Honed Surface Finish

A honed finish is a smooth finish but without the shine. The surface may have a low sheen to it but, depending upon the type of stone, more often than not will be matte, or dull. This surface finish needs to be resealed more frequently than a polished surface but is better at hiding flaws.

Polished Finish

Polished Surface Finish

A polished finish is created when a stone surface reaches it's most refined stage. It is buffed to the highest level possible, and the results are either a high shine or the actual highest level of shine that can be achieved naturally. This finish gives the stone a very elegant and rich look, providing it with a pinnacle depth of colour. Polished surfaces are best for countertops and vanities.

Leathered Finish

Leathered Surface Finish

A leathered finish is not a smooth finish. The surface of this stone will have a texture to it and may even feel gritty. It's a very natural and almost casual look. This surface needs the least care and hides flaws, fingerprints, stains, and what-have-you very well. The natural color of the stone is kept with this surface finish.
